Gulf Genomics

Molecular diagnostics, designed in the Gulf.

We design the instruments, write the software that runs them, and validate the methods that run on them — for a region that currently imports all three.

Who we are

A team that builds — not just advises.

Gulf Genomics is a molecular-diagnostics design team based in Oman, built to develop the instruments, software and methods the Gulf currently imports. We work across three disciplines at once:

01

Hardware & instrumentation.

Instrument design and read-out systems — specified for the workflow, the sample and the throughput a Gulf lab actually has. Developed through an engineering alliance that gives a small local team the bench of an established instrument house.

02

Software & firmware.

Firmware and instrument control, workflow, read-out interpretation, and the data and reporting layer — turning a raw signal into a traceable, defensible result.

03

Molecular R&D — the wet lab.

Assay design and development, nucleic-acid extraction and PCR/qPCR chemistry, and method validation against reference standards — the science of reliably detecting what matters in a real, messy sample.

We don't resell, and we don't only consult. We design, we build, we validate — for the region, in the region.

What we do

Paid development — and the IP that comes with it.

You bring a detection problem. We design and validate the solution — and it becomes capability we can build on.

01

Design an instrument

Specified for your workflow, your sample matrix and your throughput — or an existing platform adapted to them.

02

Build the software

Firmware and instrument control, plus the data and reporting layer that makes a result defensible — traceable, auditable, and ready for an accredited scope.

03

Develop & validate a method

An assay tuned to a locally relevant target or a difficult local matrix — validated on local samples against a reference method, with the documentation a lab needs to put it onto its ISO 17025 accredited scope.

04

Run an R&D programme

For a producer, agency or institution that needs a molecular capability built and doesn't have the bench.

Where we focus

The problems worth solving first.

01

Food integrity.

Halal and species authenticity — detecting porcine and undeclared species in food by PCR, where paperwork isn't proof and DNA is. A continuous, region-wide need governed by a pan-GCC standard.

02

Veterinary & biosecurity.

Endemic and imported animal disease — developing and validating detection for the pathogens that move with live-animal trade.

03

The workflow beneath every target.

Extraction, amplification, read-out and reporting — plus the instruments and software that carry it. Solve the workflow once, and every assay rides on it.

How we work

We claim only what we can measure.

A result is worth exactly as much as the discipline behind it. Positive and negative controls on every run, comparison against an established reference method, end-to-end traceability, and every call read against a validated cutoff. Where we quote a performance figure, it is a target floor to be validated on real samples — not a marketing claim.

Selected work

Proof, as it accrues.

We'll publish validation studies and field deployments here as they're completed. We don't show work we haven't done.

Where this goes

From designing diagnostics to making them.

We start by designing and validating molecular diagnostics for Gulf customers. That capability is designed to climb — from development, to supplying the validated solutions, to assembling them, to manufacturing diagnostic instruments and test systems in Oman, for the Gulf and then Africa. Every step builds on the last, and the destination is a locally-made product the region owns.

01

Design

Paid instrument, software and method development. Where we start.

02

Supply

The validated solutions, delivered and supported.

03

Assemble

Local assembly in an Omani economic zone.

04

Manufacture

Instruments & test systems made in Oman — Gulf, then Africa.

Aligned with Vision 2040

Building what the country has said it wants.

01

Scientific research is a named National Priority.

"Education, Learning, Scientific Research and National Capabilities" is one of Vision 2040's twelve priorities — our core work sits inside the national agenda.

02

Local manufacturing is a Royally-endorsed target.

Under the Industrial Strategy 2040, Oman is growing local manufacturing toward >OMR 11.6bn by 2040 — with medical devices among its named sub-sectors. Our destination is national policy.

03

Built for local content.

A company whose purpose is to move molecular diagnostics from imported to locally-developed-and-made — on the right side of every In-Country Value incentive.
